A Brass and Bronze Hydrometer Jug

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1910-1930 a brass hydrometer pot with bronze Art Nouveau fixings that hold the original wooden handle.

These were used to measure the saline in ship's engines, and this has survived well and is in good condition.

It measures 30cm in height, the base is approximately 13cm in diameter and the length of the handle is 14cm.

Everything is original and there are no signs of damage or repair.
