Magnificent French Gilded Bronze & Enamel Picture Frame C.1900

Description

A magnificent and grand photograph frame; if you are looking for a statement piece, this may very well be it.

Made from Ormolu or gilded bronze, it has been meticulously restored to it's former glory with a bright patina, clean silk taffeta and a recovered backing incorporating a folding easel back stand.

Behind the glass are various gilded bronze mounts attached to the silk taffeta; the central circular aperture has a diameter measuring 3 7/8" in diameter

The bottom of the frame is decorated with the most stunning emerald green enamel overlaid with lattice work.

An exceptional frame dating to c.1900 and in superb condition with an overall measurement of 9" x 9 1/8" x 1".
