The walnut case has a wonderful rich colour and patina and the grain really does shine through, this is complimented by the finely carved and turned columns and finials.
The original white enamel dial is in excellent original condition but if you look very closely does have a very feint hairline crack between the 7 and 8.
All of the glass is perfect and the beat plaque is also enameled
Please do not confuse this clock to the numerous cheaply made late Victorian and Edwardian Vienna regulators ,this clock is of a much higher standard and quality.
The high quality solid brass 8 day movement is totally original and is of the early outside countwheel type. It has just undergone a full overhaul, clean and service by Alan Willliams FBHI who is a Fellow of the British Horological Institute so is in tip top condition and should give trouble free service for many years to come.
The clock strikes the hours and the half hours on a gong.
It is keeping accurate time to within 1 minute a week, which I think you will agree is not bad for a 140 year old clock.
The clock comes with its original winding key.
Overall this is a fine and beautifully proportioned original and complete Vienna regulator wall clock in superb condition throughout.
The clock movement comes with a full 12 month warranty.
