Description

A fine quality Victorian satin birch compactum wardrobe, circa 1870, the moulded cornice over a central mirror door, the plate with an arch topped moulding and opening to reveal a hanging rail over three drawers, flanked by a pair of panel doors with line inlay borders, the left hand side lined in original fabric, with slide out top with hanging pegs and a lift up compartment at the base, the right hand side with slide out section with hanging hooks, raised upon a plinth base.

A really nice quality wardrobe in very good, original condition and of lovely rich colour. The deep, shaped mouldings around the mirror is an unusual touch as is the line inlay to the doors. There is some slight chipping to edges of veneer in places but it is minimal. The sliding panels and hanging hooks could easily be removed to insert hanging rails if preferred as there is ample depth to do this.

The wardrobe breaks down into a number of pieces so can easily be moved.
