Set of Six Regency Rosewood Dining Chairs C.1830

19th century
Description

Fine quality set of six Regency rosewood dining chairs c.1830. Solid rosewood frames with broad curving backrests and stretchers between gracefully shaped rear stiles. Loose seat pads upholstered in crimson velvet over swept side rails and a moulded front. Antique enamel lables to the underside of two of the chairs for Ye Old Curiosity Shop Plymouth. Raised on fine turned and tapering legs with segmented carved detail. Small repair to the corner of one backrest, otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops with clean and serviceable covers.
