This attractive pair of candlesticks retain their original aged finish and have been well cast and chased with finely detailed decoration. The candle nozzle and drip pan both have leaf decoration, the stem is of berried laurel leaf design and acanthus leaves and palmettes sit on the lion paw feet which are raised on an inverted tri-form base. They are from the Charles X period dating to circa 1830.
Condition - Original aged finish which is rubbed to the highpoints gives a pleasing contrast with a light coat of wax having been applied to protect and enhance the finish.
