Description

An attractive 18th century oak blanket box. The hinged lid has three panels and opens to reveal a spacious interior. The front of the oak coffer also has three panels, each with decorative carved detail. To the centre is an old iron lock plate (no key). Raised on four stile legs.

CONDITION REPORT:

In well-used antique condition throughout with various signs of age and wear. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, losses and staining to the top, front, and also sides (pictured). Of good construction. There is evidence of old historic wood worm in places which long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The hinges appear original.
