Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The trunk lid has a diamond pattern of nine holes and lifts on heavy duty brass hinges to reveal a good amount of storage to the interior. The panels have been ebonised – later painted in Annie Sloan Athenian Black chalk paint and given a wax finish. Would fit perfectly in to a modern bedroom or living room setting.
