1887 - A Brass Candelabra with a Parrot on the Top

19th century
Description

A beautifully made and highly decorative double arm candelabra with a parrot on the top and registration marks dating it to 1887 under the base.

It measures 29cm in height and 23cm across at the widest part and has a 12cm square base with four curved feet.

The brass casting is excellent with good details throughout, including the candle holders and cups and there are indications that it may once have been silver plated - see photo 7.

Under the base on each of the four sides is the registration details reading: Rd No. 70672

The item has been professionally polished but not lacquered and is in very good condition with no signs of damage or repair.
