Rare 8" Fusee Dial Wall Clock James Routledge of Carlisle

Description

A rare very small fusee dial wall clock. An 8" painted dial with blued steel hands and signed 'JAMES ROUTLEDGE, CARLISLE'. A brass bezel surround. A walnut case of good colour. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism. A nice period brass winding key.

James Routledge of Carlisle is listed in Loomes 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1869-1879. Other family members are noted as working from 1828.
