Antique English Crocodile Clad Jewelry Box C.1890

Description

Dating to the late Victorian era, this English Jewellery box is covered in a handsome piece of chocolate coloured Crocodile or Alligator skin with an attractive glossy patina.

The box has a quality long brass piano style hinge. When opened the vibrant emerald green velvet and silk lining is revealed with a section tot he the back which would accommodate three or four rings. There are two removable stud or earring holders with another storage compartment underneath.

The central section looks like it may have had shallow tray that sat on top.

Unfortunately no key. Excellent condition, measuring 6" x 4" x 2".
