Description

A rare little Salt-Bag (namakdan) woven by Uzbek tribes at the end of the 19th century. The beautiful natural colours combined with the 'lightening' design make this small bag a most attractive wall-hanging. Complete with plain- weave back in narrow horizontal bands of ivory and brown wool, the bag is in excellent condition apart from a small bite out of the top opening through use. Salt-bags of the Uzbek tribes are scarce compared to many of the salt-bags produced by the many Persian tribes.

Size: 43cm x 30cm (17" x 12").
