Description

A substantial and impressive Edwardian cut lead crystal jug, c1900. Following the cutting techniques developed in the early 19thC, the jug has a star cut base, slice cut bands above and below the central band which alternates a hobnail cut diamond and star diamond pattern. The neck is step cut and dogs tooth cutting embellishes the rim. The jug has a plain strong handle which joins the jug faultlessly. The quality of this jug is evident from the weight (1.48kg), the balanced proportions and immaculate cutting technique. The condition is excellent.
