Size: 8ft 0in x 5ft 1in (245 x 155cm).

Antique Shekarlu Qashqai rug of classic medallion design.

Circa 1890.

This classic Shekarlu has a double hooked medallion design, the field is filled with animals and tribal devices.

The array of colours is outstanding including yellows and greens. The border is of typical Shekarlu design, both ends have the original weft work panel finishes. The rug has a soft floppy handle with long glossy pile. The rug has red wefts as is typical of Qashqai weaving.

The carpet is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good long pile.

Hand washed and ready for use or display.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
