Description

An antique oak coffer. The hinged lid opens to reveal a spacious interior, with a small candle box to the right-hand side. The front has four sunken panels with decorative carved detail above. The iron lock plate remains, but there is no key or locking mechanism. Raised on stile feet.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good, well-worn antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. There is surface wear in places, including age-related marks and staining to the top, front, and sides (pictured). There is some fading and discolouration to parts of the lid. Hinges appear to be the originals. Of good construction. Some losses and evidence of old historic woodworm that is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution.
