Art Nouveau Silver Single Stamp Box by Edward Souter Barnsley, Birmingham 1902

Description

This pretty Art Nouveau silver glazed single stamp box was made by the prolific Edward Souter Barnsley and is dated Birmingham 1902. The glazed lid encasing an original stamp. The silver frame embossed with Art Nouveau floral motifs. The box and hinged cover lined with green leather.

Hallmarks:

E.S.B for E S Barnsley & Co (Edward Souter Barnsley)

Date letter "c" for 1902.

Birmingham Assay mark.

Lion Passant.

Dimensions:

Width: 4cm / 1.5 inches.

Maximum height: 3.5cm / 1.3 inches.

Length: 4.5cm / 1.6 inches.

Condition:

Very good.

stamp a little faded

Silver in good order.

Leather lining in excellent condition.
