Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The lid enclosed in a brass collar decorated with beading and interwoven oval lattice banding. The centre with a leaf and shell opening catch. The rectangular, slightly waisted body decorated with a variety of wild flowers. The underside marked 'VP' for Veuve Perrin'.
Date circa 1790.
