Stunning English Victorian Sterling Silver Box - 1896

Description

An exceptional and highly decorative slim oval trinket box made from English sterling silver with stunning all over repousse decoration. The centre of the domed lid has a vacant cartouche, which could be engraved by your silversmith if desired.

The hinge is in perfect working order and the lid shuts tight, once opened the delightful gilded interior is revealed.

There is a full English hallmark for Birmingham 1896 together with a makers mark D & F for the renowned silversmith, Deakin & Francis.

Excellent condition measuring 3 3/4" long x 1" wide x 7/8" tall.
