Description

A beautiful large 18th century Welsh oak two-part mule chest. The hinged lid opens to reveal a spacious storage compartment. To the front are four arched panels above the base. The base consists of an arrangement of five drawers of varying sizes, each with brass swan neck handles. Raised on bracket feet with a decorative scroll-like carved and shaped front apron.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including some shrinkage gaps due to the age of the furniture. Minor losses to plinth surrounding upper section. Shrinkage gaps and losses to the base, with some honest repairs. Minimal old historic treated woodworm to the back. Original hinges present on the lid. Chest has small shrinkage gaps to base and side.
