English Sterling Silver Postage Stamp Case in Envelope Form - 1911

Description

A delightful and highly decorative small postage stamp box in the form of an envelope, with an all over engraved decoration.

The front of the "envelope" has a shield shaped cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if desired.

There is a ring which would allow it to be put on a chain making it a most unusual pendant.

The silver bears the English silver hallmark for the highly collectible Chester assay office together with the date letter for 1911. The makers initials are too clear, A.E.J. for the silversmith Albert E. Jones.

Excellent condition, measuring 1" x 7/8".
