Antique Longcase Clock

18th century
Description

A small 'cottage' Gloucestershire longcase clock. A flat moulded pediment with hood columns. Dentil cornice moulding to the hood pediment. An oak case of slim proportions. A well engraved brass dial depicting the four seasons to the corners. A date and seconds indicator. A 30 hour mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

George Miles of Horton is recorded in Dowlers' 'Gloucestershire Clock and Watchmakers' book as working in the late 18th century. He was married in the Parish of Horton in 1777.
