Boosey Leather French Horn Case.

Description

This gorgeous Victorian leather French Horn case which is by Boosey & Co, London dates from the late 19th century and is extremely well made, strong and durable being made from high quality leather.

The case has a wonderful look with a warm patina and a dark rich colour, the original Boosey & Co, London label is on the inside and the interior lining is in nice condition with a couple of internal storage compartments. The lock/clasp is made of brass, we do not have the key but the lock works well and stays shut on the clasp. There are 2 leather straps fitted to the outer lid and the case has a leather carrying handle which is strong and sturdy.

A beautiful usable musical instrument case but also ideal for home decor, shop display or photography / film prop.

Marked: Boosey & Co, London. Band Instrument Makers label.

Outer dimensions: 53 cm (21") Length. 28 cm (11") Width. 41 cm (16") Height including carrying handle.

Internal opening dimensions: 46 cm (18") Depth. 24 cm (9 1/2") Width. 33 cm (13") Height.

Weight: 2.436 kg.

Condition: Beautiful used antique condition with a wonderful patina and warm rich colour. Some age related wear with scuffs, scrapes and light cracking. The case is very sound and usable. Good stitching, strong handle and corners. The brass locks have been partly cleaned. The interior is in very nice condition with just a little staining. The clasp works but we do not have the key. Please see pictures.
