This is a very rare 19th century Nagaland cooking table which would now make the most amazing coffee table. Nagaland is a mountainous state of North east India and is home to diverse indigenous tribes. The table is carved from one single piece of wood and would have been used for grounding herbs and spices for cooking. The patina this example has gained over the years is gorgeous and really makes this a highly decorative piece of furniture. For me the form is perfect and makes it an ideal feature to a room.
