19th Century Oak Two Stage Bookcase

A well-presented 19th century Welsh oak two stage bookcase. To the top is a moulded cornice above two glazed doors. These have attractive moulded and fluted detail, and open to reveal three fitted shelves. The lower section consists of a chest of drawers with an arrangement of two short over three long drawers. Each of these has brass handles sitting on a decorative brass backplate. Raised on bracket feet. Also, this piece separates into two for ease of transport.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including a repair to the top left-hand corner of the upper section. Historic shrinkage gaps to the sides. Some staining to the surface. All drawers run well. Evidence of old historic woodworm which is long gone and has been treated as a precaution. Of good construction.
