Georgian Sewing Etui Compendium

18th century
Description

This is a really super item, still in its original box.

The box is beautifully decorated on the top with coloured embossing. It closes well with a hook & eye fastening.

Inside the lid is lined in blue silk and the base in blue velvet.

It comprises a tape measure, complete and in working order. The finial on the top winds the tape back in.

Thimble is in good condition.

The third item is an emery cushion, it is too hard to be a pin cushion and they needed to clean their steel pins.

Probably the best one of these I have seen.
