Description

George VI mahogany library bookcase

This George VI mahogany library bookcase was made in one of the prestige workshops of the period. It would have been sold in one of the top end retailers of fine items, probably Harrods.

The cabinetmaker selected the best Georgian design before making this fine bookcase.

Having the desirable swan neck cornice with applied floral decoration.

The glazed top with fine astragals dividing the glass with doors open to reveal adjustable shelves, that allow you to select the shelf height required.

The base with a pair of oak lined drawers fitted with the original brass swan neck handles, below the drawers is a double cupboard fitted a shelf. The cupboard doors with circular panels and then standing on bracket feet.
