Stunning Georgian Brass Bound Mahogany Table Box C.1820

19th century
Sold by Puckerings
Description

Made from an exceptionally handsome piece of Mahogany with stunning flamed grain to the lid, this is a very usable and practical box for desk top, jewellery or even to hide those ugly remote controls.

The top quality construction is enhanced with inlaid military or campaign style straps and corners, a flush fitting cast brass handle and a brass escutcheon which houses a taselled key for display purposes only.

The interior has been beautifully relined with a hand-marbeled paper, nice and clean and ready for use. The box is lucky enough to have the manufacturers plaque inside together with the address on an additional plaque - made by the famous Bayley's of 17 Cockspur Street, London.

A superb piece dating to George III period, c.1820. Excellent condition, measuring 15 3/4" x 8 3/4" x 4" tall.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
