Early 17thc Oak Furniture Joyned Stool. English C1620-30

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

Probably one of the best early 17thc Oak Joyned Stools I have had....it has a really good height of 53.3cms (21 ins) and has impressive boldly turned baluster legs which terminate with cotton reel turnings, joined by plain stretchers....stamped with the original owners initials WR.....it is a West Country style of Stool, probably from the Salisbury area and is the typical style of Humphrey Beckham (1588-1671) . I really like the variations of the turnings in thickness and patterns of the legs which really brings this stool to life....excellent original condition.

English. C1620-30.
