An unusual form of wool / yarn bowl....coming from Holland it is interesting to note the difference in shape to the English wool bowls....one could easily have mistaken it for a ''salt''....purchased from a specialist in sewing items, who has occasionally come across this type before. It is made from Lignum Vitae and has gained a very good colour from years of use.......very good figuring and in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs.
Dutch. C1840-60.
