Description

An exceptional and rare pair of English Victorian ebony and ebonised boulle side or display cabinets with red toirtoise shell, pewter and brass inlay in the French Louis XIV style.

?The cabinets have scrolling foliate inlaid design to the front with single brass string inlay to the plinth and sides. They are adorned with exceptional quality bronze gilded ormolu scrolling floral leaf mounts and egg and dart shaped mouldings. To the front is the face of Bacchus the God of wine and to the sides are female masks surrounded by flowers and leaves.

The cabinets have been re-lined inside in a silver grey velvet fabric to compliment the pewter inlay and there are two glass shelves to each cabinet. Both cabinets retain their original locks and are supplied with keys.
