An Elegant Georgian Silver Cream Ladle

A lovely silver cream ladle from the 18th Century. This delightful and useful example is in Old English pattern and has a handsome crest engraved to the top front. It bears the motto :- Honi soit qui mal y pense . This is a Middle French maxim, meaning "shamed be whoever thinks bad of it", usually translated as "shame on anyone who thinks evil of it" and used as the motto of the British chivalric Order of the Garter.
