An intriguing and wonderfully crust painted armorial panel, on a black ground with a knight’s helmet emitted flames, above a shield divided into sections with lions, daggers and what appear to be three hedgehogs, above a ribbon band at the bottom which appears to read ‘RG. G. MURITO’. The armorial is painted on some sort of plywood.
Condition:
The paint is very crusty and bubbling, with wear and loss. The panel has a surface crack running down off centre of approx 14 cm.
