Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco silver design from the 1940s focuses on geometric patterns, streamlined silhouettes, and functional elegance. During this period, silversmiths combined precise machine engine-turning with hand-finishing techniques to create sleek personal accessories.

These boxes were primarily constructed from solid sterling silver, hallmarked to indicate metal purity and origin. Interiors sometimes featured gilt washing, wood linings for cigarettes, or mirror inserts for vanity use.

Authentic English silver items bear official assay office hallmarks, including the lion passant for sterling silver, a town mark, a date letter, and a registered makers mark. Items produced by luxury houses also feature maker-specific maker stamps and integrated hinges.

A silver Art Deco box serves as a functional accent on an office desk, coffee table, or dressing table tray. It adds structured geometric contrast alongside natural textures, leather goods, or paper volumes.

To preserve sterling silver, wipe gently with a silver polishing cloth or apply a non-abrasive silver cream using a soft cotton pad. Store the piece in a dry space inside a tarnish-inhibiting cloth pouch when not on display.
