Description

An early 18th century elm six plank boarded coffer in good order and very original save for minor repairs to one foot and one piece of beading to the front .
The finish is waxed timber and is also original ; the piece retains its owners initials - E t W applied in cream to the front .The colour is a mellow honey brown and the wood is well figured .
This handsome piece is of typical elm wood construction ie: country made and robust ; it has been timber treated .
