Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
~~ Excellent original condition throughout ~~
This is an extremely fine mantel clock by the famous french clockmaker Samuel Marti.
It stands on small brass button feet.

As you would expect from Samuel Marti it has one of the finest French movements that you will find, it is fully marked with the round medal d'or stamp indicating that this was a gold winning movement, it is totally original and has just undergone a full and comprehensive service by Alan Williams of Plymouth Clocks, a Fellow of the British Horological Institute, so is in tip top condition and should give trouble free service for many years to come.

It comes with its orginal pendulum and both keys.
There is a slight chip to the bottom edge of the enamel dial which is all but hidden by the brass bezel when the door is closed, it is quite minor and does not detract from the overall piece.

It runs for over 8 days between winding and strikes on the hour and half hour on a small tuned gong.
This clock dates from about 1890 and has obviously been highly prized and looked after, the condition is a credit to its previous owners.

Overall this is a very beautiful clock in lovely condition by one of the most respected clock makers of the 19th century
The clock movement comes with a full 12 month warranty.
