Pair of Large Oak Open Armchairs C.1900

1900 - 1920
Description

Pair of large oak open armchairs c.1900. Would make a fine pair of desk chairs. Solid oak frames with arched top backs carved with a crisp relief frieze between pointed finials. Backrest and seat pads upholstered in an oxblood red faux leather with brass studs (seat height 18"). Flat top arms supported on particularly well shaped front stiles tapering to neat square feet. Joined with side stretchers for strength. Some old wear to the finish, most obvious on the arms, otherwise very good condition. Solid and sturdy, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
