Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sonia Lawson R.A. was a prominent British artist elected to the Royal Academy in 1982. Her style is recognised for its expressive figurative mark-making, rich narrative qualities, and fluid blend of drawing and printmaking techniques.

This mixed media technique begins with an initial printed lithographic base on heavy paper. The artist then applies hand-drawn pastel or charcoal highlights directly over the print, adding texture, tone, and individual variation to the piece.

Authentic works typically feature handwritten pencil signatures by the artist in the lower margins, title inscriptions, and edition numbers or artist proof designations, alongside provenance from established galleries or auction houses.

Monochrome and expressive line drawings complement contemporary minimal interiors, gallery walls, or classic study spaces. Frame the artwork with an acid-free mount in a neutral wood or slim black frame to highlight the tonal contrast.

Works executed in pastel and print media should be framed behind UV-filtering glass with a mat to prevent the pastel dust from contacting the glazing. Store and display in dry environments away from direct sunlight and high humidity.
