Antique Omega half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 5,880,076 dates it back to around 1920. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and was made by the American company Fahys. Joseph Fahys & Co was a high end watch case maker with headquarters in New York. The company was founded in 1857 by Joseph Fahys, a French emigrant. Fahys supplied Omega with cases at the beginning of the 20th Century. This particular case has the Fahys Caduceus logo inside the case, a trademark registered in 1899.

The case is in good condition with just minor marking, nothing serious at all. The back of the watch has the initial C with an elaborate design.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is a glass lens which is in lovely condition.

The signed dial has blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed. There are some hairline cracks but they are very faint.

The watch comes in an antique presentation box from a London jeweller.
