An Antique Case Containing 5 Treen Hawkmoths. Circa 1860

Description

A beautiful display of hand carved treen hawkmoths mounted in a period glazed display case combining exotic timbers to create a superb object. Satin wood, tulip wood, birdseye maple and mahogany with the internal border being hand marbled paper.

My apologies for the rather poor photography, partly the lack of expensive equipment and partly lack of skill! The case is far better in 'the wood' so to speak than my images reveal.
