Description

This fabulous Edwardian tan croc leather stationery box which is made by De La Rue and retailed by R. Wylie Hill & Co of Glasgow is fully hallmarked to the top edge and escutcheon for 1905.

The interior of the box has 4 compartments for your stationery, a lined tan silk lid and a brass lock which works and comes with it's original key. The inside edge is embossed in gold with the retailer's name.

This beautiful quality box is a very nice usable item that also looks wonderful on display.

Material: Leather. Solid silver. Brass lock.

Hallmarks: Fully hallmarked to the edge of the lid and escutcheon with Lion for sterling silver. London. Date letter k for 1905. Maker's mark DLR LD for De La Rue Ltd. Also marked with the retailer's name of R. Wylie Hill & Co. Glasgow.

Condition: Very good used antique condition with light signs of use in keeping with age. Some wear to the leather corners. Leather has dried out in some places mainly to one side. Lock works well. Comes with it's original key. Some light staining spots and small marks.
