Handsome Magnifying Glass in Sterling Silver and Tortoiseshell - 1903

Description

The chunky handle to this desk-top magnifying glass is so very tactile with it's raised acanthus leaf border to both front and back.

Made from sterling silver the front is inset with a glossy panel of antique tortoise shell with intricate silver pique inlay. The silver ferrule is where the hallmark can be found for Sheffield 1903, Edwardian in era.

The nickel rimmed magnifier is of course new, so perfectly usable with an undamaged lens and good magnification.

Excellent condition, measuring 7" in length with a lens diameter of 3".
