18th Century Oak Coffer Cupboard

An excellent 18th century Welsh oak coffer cupboard. Throughout there is decorative inlay and panelling. The top is fixed and sits above three panelled cupboard doors. Though the middle door does not open, the left and right-hand ones do. These open to reveal generous storage space and a single fitted shelf behind the dummy door. Under this is an arrangement of one small drawer between two long drawers, each with brass handles and backplates. Raised on a plinth base. Adapted from an antique mule chest.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. Evidence of extensive historical woodworm that is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. There is surface wear in places including some marks and wear to the top and front (pictured). Centre panel has small split to the left-hand side (pictured). Small losses to left hand door (pictured). Historic repair to rear left leg (pictured). All drawers run smoothly. Overall, an attractive piece of good construction.
