Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Vase - Hayashi Kodenji

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large globular Meiji Period 1868-1912 Cloisonne enamel vase, the deep blue ground of this vase has been decorated  with a vivid predominately silver wired scene depicting a pair of Pheasants in a landscape setting, the birds stood upon a grassy bank aside a river and amidst a backdrop of chrysanthemum and other native flora, a flock of birds pass by overhead, the base and neck decorated in traditional formal borders that you would instantly associate as the work of the Hayashi studios under the guidance of Hayashi Kodenji ii, and towards the end of the Meiji period following that golden age of Cloisonne production, the vase is heavily counter enameled and sits upon silver rims carrying the jungin mark, accompanying the vase is its original carved hardwood stand, both of which fit snugly into a silk lined tomobako, unusually carrying the name of the Shobido company , presumably the retailer of such goods, or ...
