A ladies writing table or bonheur-de-jour in burr walnut. The removable superstructure sit on a flat top writing table, with single central drawer, raised on square tapering legs terminating in brass cup castors. The writing surface has a central gilt tooled leather insert. The superstructure is fitted with drawers and pigeon holes and mounted with a pierced ormolu gallery. The seven drawers have ormolu handles, along with mounts on the corners and tops of legs. Cross banded and strung throughout with beautifully matched veneers, even following through on the drawer dividers. Super quality, colour and original condition. English c1870
