Ww2 Helvetia Military Pocket Watch

WW2 Helvetia military pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, calibre 32A, which is working nicely. The movement, with Geneva stripes, is signed General Watch Co, Switzerland and Helvetia.

The brand name Helvetia was registered by Louis Brandt & Frere in 1892. Two years later, the same company registered the name Omega. The Omega range because hugely

successful so, to make room for the increased production, the Helvetia range was trans-ferred to a new company, the General Watch Company, with Louis Brandt being one of the

directors alongside Edouard Boillat and Louis Courvoisier.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is

chromium plated and has general surface marks but overall very acceptable for a World War 2 piece.

The acrylic lens is in super condition.

The signed dial has several hairline cracks as shown on the photos. Original hands… the radium paint has been removed from the numbers and hands at some point in its life.

The watch comes with a leather albert, 20cm long.

The watch and albert come in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
