This crested early George II silver brandy pan was made in London in 1733 by John Fossey and measures 9.5 inches from the handle across by 3 1/8 inches tall and 3 3/8 inches across the bowl, there is a pouring lip to the side with drop detailing below and the handles is attached to the body with a heart shaped terminal and a turned wooden handle. It is crested to the front with a stag and is fully and clearly hallmarked under the base where it also bears the engraved initials of M*H, a lovely pan in excellent condition weighing 8.95 ounces or 280 grams.
