Antique English Inkwell - Sterling Silver Top - Birmingham 1900

Description

A beautiful inkwell, perfect to fit into a contemporary interior as well as a period with it's simple form, very stylish and most elegant.

The underside of the glass is deep cut in the ever-popular hobnail design. The edges of the square crystal are all rounded.

The collar and hinged lid are made made from sterling silver with the square top being gently domed. The silver is of course hallmarked for Birmingham 1900, the last year of Queen Victoria's reign; the makers mark is also present, J. G & S for John Grinsell & Sons.

Excellent condition, measuring 2 1/2" square x 3" tall.
