Description

Remarkable pair of Edwardian era walnut bench seats c.1910. Purchased from Bodelwyddan castle here in North Wales (until recently home to 19th.c. works from the collection of the National Portrait Gallery) ideal as gallery seating or in a hotel lobby or even home cinema perhaps. Very heavily constructed in walnut. Each measuring nine feet long with four sprung seats (seat height 18½", width 23", depth 19"), backrests and arms upholstered in brown faux leather. Shaped arm supports, fluted frieze below the seats and cabriole front legs all in walnut. Slight differences in design, most obvious on the backs where one has four lovely raised and fielded panels where as the other has flat panels, also in walnut. Some previous adaptions to the sides and rear. Good condition some minor wear to the upholstery, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.

Could be sold individually.
