Georgian Mahogany Fall Front Bureau

An attractive Georgian mahogany bureau. The fall front opens to reveal a series of pigeonholes, drawers, and a small central cupboard door. This door is flanked by two pillars that can be pulled out to serve as secret compartments and the door itself opens to reveal a neat storage space. The fall front has an inset leather writing surface which is supported by two pull out arms flanking the top two drawers. The bureau front has an arrangement of two short over three long drawers. Raised on bracket feet.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including some surface wear and age-related marks (pictured). Some cracking to the veneer of the fall front (pictured). Left hand-side internal compartment drawer is missing a handle. Some shrinkage cracks to left-hand side (pictured). Good historic repair to rear left foot (pictured). Some minor losses to the drawer surrounds (pictured). All drawers run well.
