Description

A fantastic Victorian signet-style ring set with a polished banded agate mounted in an 18-carat gold setting. Note the beautifully ornate shoulder detail and the lovely rich colour typical of high-carat gold. It's a little hard to tell from the photos but the agate is a greyish milky white on top, with the black layer beneath showing around the edges.

In very good antique condition; there is surface wear to the agate consistent with normal usage over time and the ring shank is slightly out of shape, see photos.

Size: J and a half (UK), 5 (US). The agate measures 1 x 1.3m and the complete face of the ring is 1.5 x 1.3cm. It sits around 4mm above the finger.
